A:	In 4 out of 10 states in 2006, person offenders accounted for more than the national average of 36% of the committed custody population.

Oregon had the highest proportions of person offenders among committed juveniles (57%). Nebraska (14%), and Mississippi (16%) had the lowest proportions.
The proportion of juvenile offenders committed for technical violations of probation, parole, or valid court orders ranged from 50% in New Mexico to 0% in Vermont.
In half of all states, status offenders accounted for less than 5% of committed offenders.
