OverviewTop
Mentoring is a process which uses relationships to teach, impart, or institute changes in behaviors or attitudes. Research indicates that, when well-implemented, mentoring can be a useful strategy in working with at-risk youth and those who experience multiple risk factors for delinquency, school failure and other negative outcomes. OJJDP's Juvenile Mentoring Grants Program includes solicitations geared toward supporting national and community organizations that directly serve youth through mentoring, target specific populations of youth, and/or enhance the capacity of other organizations to recruit, train, and supervise mentors.
